Catedral del Vi

Back in the 1920s, when the Cooperative building was built, Pinell de Brai had large scale wine production and all the tanks in the winery were always in full use. Back in the 1980s the majority of the local vines were uprooted and consequently wine production was significantly reduced, greatly affecting the activities of the cooperative winery.

Even though today most of the tanks are empty, the machine room is occupied by modern, stainless steel vats and machinery and it is where the small amount of production there currently is takes place. As production is currently so scant, the building is mostly used as a tourist attraction, with guided visits and wine and oil tasting sessions..

Tour with audio guide

For this visit of Catedral del Vi, the guest is provided with a plan of the route through the building and facilities, an audio guide in 6 languages (Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Russian and German) and an audio-visual presentation. The visit finishes with a wine and oil tasting session. The cost of the visit includes the audio guide and wine and oil tasting. Visits are from Monday to Sunday at different times.

Guided tour

On the guided tour the visitor is accompanied by a guide who will (in one single language) explain the modernist building and facilities, review the history of Catedral del Vi, and show an audio-visual presentation. The visit will finish with a wine and oil tasting session. Guided visits are at 12:00 hours and 13:30 hours on weekends and public holidays.
Reservations via web. Remember that on the day of the visit you must present the receipt that you will receive by email.
