Modernista Celler

The Modernista Celler was created by the brothers Joaquim and Fran López, both raised in the hospitality and catering industry, and working with the oenologist José Valiente and the winemaker Josep Vicens, developing their wines on grapes farms located in Gandesa and Pinell de Brai. The majority of those vineyards are old and the red variety are Grenache and Carignan.

The most important fact is in the white variety, that is the white Grenache, inasmuch the 35% of the global production of this grape is in the DO Terra Alta. The varieties described have been growing in the territory integrating themselves to the weather and field we have. That allow us to make our wines with Mediterranean personality.

DO Terra Alta

The singularity of “Terra Alta” is that it offers an inland Mediterranean Vinicultural Terroir with a predominance of traditional varieties and a long standing wine-growing history and tradition.

Excellent wines

The brand Modernista Celler has four different lines of wines, always red and white, from very different categories. We have a young wine, the Modernista; a semi-vintage wine, l’Indià; a vintage one, the Gamberro and a mistela, the Gamberrillo.

Modernista Celler products are the result of the pooled efforts of all our farmers and members of our team. Wines of Mediterranean character and the distinctive oil of our lands. You will find our products on sale at the Agristore at Catedral del Vi, where we also sell other DO Terra Alta wines and many other proximity products.
